2009 Half Andalusian, Azteca (PRE Andalusian - AQHA Quarter Horse)
Beautiful, Athletic, Intelligent, Champion Bloodlines
The 2009 foals will be registered with International Andalusian Lusitano Horse Association ( IALHA) and the American Azteca Horse International Association (AAHIA).
These foals will have the grace, strength and endurance of their PRE Andalusian sire Cicerone and the performance and athleticism of cutting and reined cow horses with breeding back to Poco Bueno and Peppy San Badger.
Our broodmares represent the very best in American Quarter Horses bred for cutting, reined cowhorse, and ranch work. They carry the bloodlines of Peppy San Badger, Poco Bueno, and Doc Bar.
This combines the best qualities of the Andalusian and American Quarter Horse breeds for an exceptionally talented and versatile horse capable of competing at the highest levels. Whether your goal is dressage, cutting, reining, barrels, roping or having a rock solid trail partner, these horses will excel.
Foaling begins in late April and continues into June. . The new mother will find herself a little secluded spot in the pasture and foal without any assistance. Most of the babies come during the night, but now and then we get to be part of the process.
The babies grow strong and healthy running in the hills as a part of their extended family. They learn how to be a horse and get along in their natural social structure in their natural environment -- open grassland. They are vaccinated and de-wormed and may get their feet trimmed a little.
They are handled just enough to learn the basics of good manners and to be gentle and trusting of people. Within their first year they learn to deal with blistering heat, violent thunderstorms and howling blizzards and take it all in stride.
We believe it helps build inner strength and resilience that carries through the rest of their lives, whether they become a show horse or ranch horse or family companion.....or maybe all three, a truly versatile horse.
